What to expect
The Battle of the Regions Championship is the final round of a bracket-style pitch competition among startups from DC, Maryland and Virginia, held as part of DC Startup and Tech Week. Regional winners pitch live to a panel of investors, operators and ecosystem builders to be named the DMV's champion. The evening closes with a networking reception.
The competition is presented by District Angels, DC Startup and Tech Week, Inspire Access and the Abell Foundation. According to Technical.ly coverage, each region held its own round earlier in 2026; the Virginia round had 12 companies and advanced Torev Motors, Lympha Bio and GoodFences. The same report says winning the final includes a flight to San Francisco and a spot in the Startup World Cup, which carries a $1 million cash prize.
