What to expect
AI and Restaurants is part of the Generative Series: AI, Art and Culture, hosted by Nihal J. Krishan, Generative Series and Anna Spiegel. It is a live afternoon conversation and tasting on how AI is changing the restaurant industry, from high-end molecular gastronomy to fast-casual kitchens trying to cut waste and cost. Topics include AI-driven recipe creation, reducing waste in kitchens, and how AI shapes the guest experience from discovery to ordering. The event includes a working hardware demo and tastings by Michelin-trained chefs.
Speakers
- Anna Spiegel, food, lifestyle and city reporter at Axios D.C. and former Washingtonian food editor
- Andy Brown, founder of Andy's Pizza, who will demo a dough-shaping device he redesigned with generative AI
- A food-tech platform representative and an academic or industry representative (names not yet published)
Who should attend
Founders building in food tech, restaurant software or consumer AI, plus restaurant operators and anyone curious about practical AI use in hospitality. The organizers describe a small, curated crowd, which makes it a useful setting for direct conversations with operators and press.
