What to expect

This online pitch session is for early stage tech startups. It runs loosely like Shark Tank, but there are no prizes or money awards. Founders pitch for up to three minutes, and then each founder gets a breakout room where attendees can ask questions, offer help or talk about joining the team. The session is run by the D.C. Startup Founders and Tech Professionals Meetup group in the Startup Oasis format.

Who should attend

The session is useful if you are looking for a cofounder, want to join or advise a startup, or just want to see what local founders are building. Only cofounders of technology based startups may pitch. Agencies, consultants, coaches, MLM businesses and nonprofits can watch and join breakouts, but they cannot pitch.

Agenda

  • Introductions (first 10 minutes): background on Startup Oasis and pitch signups
  • Pitches: up to 3 minutes per founder, covering the company name, business, problem, solution, target customers and biggest current need
  • Breakouts: the rest of the event, with one room per founder
