What it is
The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) is a 501(c)(6) business membership organization in Rockville, Maryland. Its stated focus is leading the Montgomery County business community as a catalyst for change, through advocacy, informational programs and networking. It says it connects small and mid-size firms with large companies, and businesses with government. Its affiliated Montgomery County Chamber Community Foundation is a separate 501(c)(3) launched in 2008.
What it offers founders
- Networking: monthly Morning Mixers for B2B networking, After Hours events, the Business EXCELerator series, and signature events such as the Annual Dinner, Legislative Reception, Business Awards and a Women's Luncheon.
- Advocacy: the Chamber says it focuses on policy rather than politics, works with a network of over 100 elected officials, and cites past work on the Purple Line, Metro reliability and the Small Business Reserve program.
- Government contracting: GovConNet runs a Government Contracting Forum, the GovConNet Institute, on-site agency visits and an annual procurement conference that draws about 1,000 business and government leaders.
- Veteran founders: the foundation's Veteran Institute for Procurement trains veteran-owned small businesses for federal contracting at no cost to participants.

How to engage
A Morning Mixer is the simplest first step, since it is designed partly for prospective members to meet the team and learn about membership. Contractors should look at GovConNet. The office is at 51 Monroe Street, Suite 1800, Rockville, MD 20850.
Why it matters in the DMV ecosystem
Montgomery County has a large federal agency presence and many government contractors. The Chamber's GovConNet programs and its work on mid-size contractor policy are a direct route into that market, and its advocacy gives local businesses a channel to county, Annapolis and federal decision makers.
