What it is

Co-Balt Workspace is a coworking and private office space at 1014 W 36th Street in Hampden, Baltimore, set in a converted 1800s church on The Avenue. It describes itself as Hampden's first and only coworking community. The Hampden Yards beer garden operates in the back lot.

Spaces and pricing

Co-Balt lists the following options on its spaces page:

  • Coworking: from $150 per month.
  • Dedicated desks: $250 per month, with a permanent desk, chair and locking filing cabinet.
  • Private offices: from $499 per month.
  • Virtual office: from $60 per month, including a business address, mail handling and one free hour of conference room use.
  • Meeting rooms: from $25 per hour, bookable without a membership.
  • Event spaces: from $150 per hour, with three spaces holding up to 150 people.
  • Day pass: $25 per day for open workspace access.

Memberships require no deposit, and pricing is all-inclusive. Plans include conference room time ranging from two hours to unlimited depending on level, plus printer, copier and scanner access and package and mail receiving.

Amenities and access

Members get 24/7 keyless access through the Co-Balt app. A community manager is on site weekdays from 9am to 5pm. The space has a full communal kitchen with free coffee and beer, ping pong and shuffleboard, and member events. Parking spaces can be rented on site, there are bike racks, and free street parking is nearby. Only service animals are allowed. Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside. Event renters may bring alcohol for guests of legal age if it is served by a licensed bartender, and the event space closes at midnight.

Co-Balt serves startups, small teams, nonprofits, remote workers and solo professionals who want an affordable, community oriented workspace in north Baltimore.
