What it is

DC Marketing Tech Talks is a community that hosts meetups for marketers in Washington, DC, Northern Virginia and Maryland. Its focus is marketing technology: marketing automation, CRM, analytics, ad tech and, in recent sessions, the use of AI in marketing. The group is still active. Its 2026 calendar included a March workshop, panels in April and May, a July happy hour, a September demo day and an October 15 session on account-based marketing.

What it offers founders

  • Panels: recent topics include content in the age of AI, an ask-me-anything with CMOs and the next generation of marketing technology.
  • Workshops and demo days: hands-on sessions such as an AI workflow for fixing funnel gaps and a MarTech Demo Day on using AI to build a B2B pipeline.
  • Networking: happy hours, including a DMV Marketing and Product Happy Hour co-hosted with ProductTank Washington DC.
  • Speaking and sponsorship: a contact form for people who want to present, sponsor, host an event or share news.

Who it is for

The Meetup group describes its audience as people who work in, or want to work in, marketing, digital or growth marketing, market research or analytics, marketing technology firms or overlapping areas, and says it is open to newcomers and veterans. For startup founders, it is most useful if you sell B2B software, build marketing technology, or are hiring and learning from marketing leaders in the region.

How to engage

Events are listed on the DC Marketing Tech Talks website and registration runs through the Meetup group and Eventbrite. You can also follow the group on Luma and LinkedIn for announcements. Meetups are typically held on weekday evenings starting at 6:00 PM, at host venues such as Red Clay Creative and Refraction Innovation Hub in McLean, SalesIntel in Vienna and Continental Pool Lounge in Arlington. Pricing is set per event: the May 2026 CMO panel was free and open to the public thanks to sponsors.

Why it matters in the DMV ecosystem

The Meetup group lists about 1,800 members and more than 60 past events. It is a recurring place where marketing practitioners, martech vendors and startup operators in the Tysons and McLean corridor meet. Founders can use it to test messaging, find marketing talent and advisors, and see how local companies are applying AI to marketing and sales.
