What to expect

This is a morning networking session from the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce GovCon Council. It looks at the U.S. Small Business Administration's proposed changes to small business size standards and to the method the SBA uses to set them. The chamber notes these changes could affect small business eligibility, competition and growth strategies in the federal market. Coffee and breakfast are provided by KME.Digital and McDonald Hopkins LLC.

Agenda and speakers

Frank Massaro of McDonald Hopkins opens the morning with a 15-minute briefing. Topics listed by the organizer:

  • What the SBA is proposing to change
  • How small business size standards could be affected
  • What the changes may mean for government contractors
  • Key considerations for growing firms
  • What contractors should watch as the proposal moves forward

Networking takes up the rest of the 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM session.

Who should attend

The chamber lists small business government contractors, business owners and executives, capture and business development professionals, and others who support companies in federal procurement. If your startup sells to federal agencies or plans to compete for set-aside contracts, size standards decide whether you count as small. That makes this a practical briefing for you.

Venue and access

The event is at MillerMusmar CPAs, 2100 Reston Pkwy, Suite 400, Reston, VA 20191, in Reston Town Center.

How to register

Online registration costs $25 for chamber members and $45 for non-members. Register on the Greater Reston Chamber site. For questions, contact Torrie Turner, Operations Manager, at torriet@restonchamber.org.
