What it is

Spaces is a flexible workspace brand that is part of IWG, the company that also runs Regus. In the Baltimore area it lists several centers: 25 S Charles Street (21201), Inner Harbor Center at 400 East Pratt Street on the 8th floor (21202), 729 East Pratt (21202), 1820 Lancaster Street, Suite 200 in Fells Point (21231), and Stadium Square at 145 West Ostend Street, Suite 600 (21230). A sixth center is listed at Towson City Center, 1 Olympic Place, Suite 900, in Towson. It is a commercial operator, not a startup program, so there is no application, cohort or investment attached.

What it offers founders

The Baltimore page lists a range of products that let a company start small and change its footprint as it grows:

  • Coworking: cowork day passes, dedicated desks and an All Access membership that covers multiple centers.
  • Private offices: offices for individuals, small teams and large teams, plus office space day passes.
  • Meeting rooms: bookable by the hour.
  • Virtual offices: a business address and related plans for companies that do not need daily desk space.

Spaces also lists medical offices, full-floor offices and beauty and wellness suites, priced on request. General amenities named on the site include reception support, secure Wi-Fi, ergonomic furniture, printing, kitchens with coffee and tea, and breakout areas. The 25 S Charles Street page notes 24/7 access for private office and dedicated cowork customers.

Membership and pricing

At the time of review, the Baltimore page advertised starting prices such as a cowork day pass from $39 per person per day, an office space day pass from $99 per person per day, meeting rooms from $39 per hour and virtual offices from $2 per day. Individual center pages may show different starting prices, and Spaces notes that prices are subject to change and availability. Some products, including day passes, All Access memberships, meeting rooms and virtual offices, can be bought or booked online, while offices are quoted after contact or a tour.

Locations and access

The downtown centers sit close to transit. The 25 S Charles Street page lists Charles Center Metro Station within a short walk, nearby bus and Light Rail stops, and access to I-95, I-395 and Penn Station. The other centers put options in the Inner Harbor, Fells Point and the Stadium Square area of South Baltimore.

Why it matters in the DMV ecosystem

For a founder new to Baltimore, Spaces is a way to get a professional address, a meeting room or a team office without signing a long traditional lease. It does not provide mentoring, funding or startup programming, so founders looking for those should pair it with local accelerators, university programs or community groups. Start with the Baltimore locations page, view a specific center such as 25 S Charles Street, or use the tour request form.
